For the State Leave is granted to the learned advocate for the petitioner to amend the cause title of this revisional application. Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Ms. Manisha Sharma, learned advocate, who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Her appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities in due course. Learned advocate appearing on behalf of petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that although case was initiated in the year 2014, being Baguihati Police Station Case No.311 dated 29th May, 2014 but till date after nine years charge has not been framed before the jurisdictional court. The case is under Sections 498A/406 of the Indian Penal Court. It has been informed that the next date has been fixed on 30th July, 2024 for consideration of charges. The petitioner in the present case has been facing agony of trial for the last nine years. The agony is, as such, justified.

Accordingly, the learned Judicial Magistrate, 2nd Court, Barasat, North 24-Parganas, is directed to frame/consider the charge on the next date so fixed in the month of July, 2024 or within a fortnight thereafter. Learned Trial Court would thereafter fix one date in a month for the purpose of trial of the present case so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time.

The Public Prosecutor appearing in the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned. All efforts be taken by the stake-holders to cooperate with the trial so that the trial is concluded within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties. With the aforesaid observations, CRR 3307 of 2023 is disposed of.

All pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.
