Petitioner has filed this writ petition being aggrieved by the alleged inaction on the part of the respondent Superintendent of Police, Malda, in disposing of the application of the petitioner dated 24th July, 2023, under Section 6 of the Right to Information Act, 2005.

Learned advocate for the respondent submits that the aforesaid application of the petitioner could not be considered due to making the aforesaid application before the wrong authority and the proper authority is the Deputy Superintendent of Police (H.Q.), Malda.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this writ petition being WPA 21209 of 2023 is

disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to make a fresh application before the Deputy Superintendent of Police (H.Q.), Malda, within two weeks from date and if such application is made by the petitioner within the time stipulated herein, the same shall be considered and disposed of within the time as per the statute.
