Petitioner complains that she had taken vehicle on hire purchase and the same was forcefully repossessed by the recovery agents of the bank. To that effect, there are allegations of threat, dire consequences and assault. Information was furnished to the Inspector-in-Charge, Dum Dum Police Station. State has earlier filed a report which reflects that the petitioner defaulted, consequently, the vehicle was repossessed pursuant to the authorisation of the bank and the repossession of the vehicle was informed to the Duttapukur Police Station.

Having considered that the repossession took place on 16.07.2024, I am of the opinion that

interference of the police authorities are unwarranted. If the petitioner intends to avail any remedy, petitioner would be advised to approach the jurisdictional civil court with necessary prayers. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 21823 of 2024 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
