The petitioner asserts that she is a resident of 3/1A, Haridevpur, Police Station-Haridevpur, District24 Parganas (South), Kolkata-700082. She has filed this petition for a directive to the Kolkata Municipal Corporation to take appropriate measures for the construction and repair of the specified stretch (Haridevpur UCO Bank, Keorapukur, Kathpole) of M.G. Road, Kolkata-700082.

In response, the Corporation has submitted a report. The relevant excerpt from the report is as follows:

"Roads Department/ KMC commenced for development of road in between Vivekananda Sporting Club to Dhalipara Mission more on Mahatma Gandhi Road which covers the stretch as complained by the petitioner. The scheme had been approved by Higher Authority and Work Order had been issued.

After receiving NOC from Traffic Department of Kolkata Police dated

18/11/2024, Roads Department commenced the work.

At present, development of road work is going on and will be completed by middle of the April, 2025."

Since the report specifically indicates that the road development work is ongoing and is expected to be completed by mid-April 2025, no further orders are necessary in this writ petition.

In light of this, WPA 21217 of 2023 is hereby disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on compliance of usual legal formalities.
