The petitioner prays for expeditious disposal of the disciplinary proceeding which had been instituted against the petitioner, on January 20, 2017 by issuance of a charge-sheet vide Memo No. 32 dated January 20, 2017. The petitioner is under suspension.

The petitioner claims that the proceeding is pending since long and has not been reached to its logical conclusion.

The petitioner is going to retire in October, 2022 and prays for expeditious disposal of the disciplinary proceeding.

The writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the respondents to ensure that the disciplinary proceeding against the petitioner is disposed of expeditiously, keeping in mind that the petitioner is to retire in October, 2022.

This court has not gone into the merits of the allegations against the petitioner and the authority as also the enquiry officer shall proceed in accordance with law.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

A copy of the writ petition along with the order of this court, be served upon the respondent nos. 3 and 4 for necessary compliance.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
