Anwar Hossain Ms. Sreyashee Biswas ... for the State Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits he is in custody for 412 days. He renews his prayer for bail. Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits petitioner had thrown acid on the face of the victim. Trial is in progress.

We have considered materials on record. Statements of the witnesses show petitioner threw acid on the face of the victim. Medical document corroborates such fact. Bail prayer of the petitioner was rejected earlier on merits. Trial is in progress. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.

We direct the trial court to expedite the trial and conclude the same as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. (Ajay Kumar Gupta, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
