The petitioner claims compassionate appointment in place and stead of her elder brother who died-inharness as a Part-time Lecturer of the respondent no.3. Pursuant to the direction of a coordinate Bench dated March 11, 2022 the respondent no.2 passed its reasoned order dated July 22, 2022, Annexure-P6 to the writ petition. In the said reasoned order it was held that there was no existing scheme and specific provision for providing such compassionate appointment in respect of the post as claimed.

It is trite that compassionate appointment is not an alternative mode of generation of employment. It is a

State policy. If the State policy does not permit for the same, no compassionate appointment can be granted. In view of the above this writ petition, WPA 21625 of 2022 stands dismissed, without any order as to costs. Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished expeditiously.
