The college has forwarded the name of the petitioner for extending the benefit of the circular bearing no. 2081 -Edn (CS)/10M-83/2019 dated December 23, 2019, issued by the Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal, but till date the Director of Public Instructions has not yet taken any decision in this regard.

In my view this writ petition need not be kept pending before this court.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Director of Public Instructions to consider the representation dated January 25, 2021, appearing at page 55 of the writ petition, within a period of two months from the date of communication of this order. Before taking the decision, the Director of Public Instructions shall hear the petitioner and the representative of the college.

Accordingly, WPA 21691 of 2022 is disposed of. (Kausik Chanda, J.)
