It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner is in custody for about twenty-eight days and co-accused who are on the same footing as the petitioner have been granted bail by the learned trial Court on 31st August, 2024.

Learned counsel for the State produces the case diary and opposes the prayer for bail.

It appears that the petitioner is in custody for twenty-eight days. The petitioner is not named in the First Information Report. Investigation has proceeded to a considerable extent. The coaccused who are similarly circumstanced with the petitioner are on bail.

Considering the material available in the case diary as well as nature of the offence, this Court is inclined to hold that further detention of the petitioner is not required for the purpose of custodial interrogation.

Prayer for bail is allowed.

Accordingly, the petitioner, namely, Rajesh Paul, shall be released on bail upon furnishing bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only), with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Haldia, Purba Medinipur subject to condition that the petitioner shall meet the Investigating Officer of the case once a week till submission of the charge sheet and shall not intimidate witnesses or tamper with evidence in any manner whatsoever.

The application for bail, being CRM (SB) 119 of 2024, is, thus, disposed of.
