1. Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.
2. Petitioner submitted application in terms Recruitment Notification dated 30th May, 2025 being memo no.
1092/7016/CSSC/ESTT/2025.
Inadvertently in the OnLine application form which was submitted by the petitioner against "subject applied for" petitioner stated Bengali (PG) instead of English (PG) and based on which admit card was supplied to the petitioner treating her as Bengali (PG) candidate not English (PG). Petitioner by instituting this writ petition has prayed for direction which would permit her to participate in the ensuing written
test scheduled on 14th September, 2025 as English (PG) candidate.
3. Prayer made by the petitioner is opposed by Mr. Kalyan Bandopadhyay, learned senior advocate representing West Bengal Central School Service Commission who appears on virtual mode. It is submitted on behalf of Commission that just before written examination scheduled on 14th September, 2025 if Commission is directed to treat the petitioner as English (PG) candidate that would create difficulty in complying necessary formality thereby permitting the petitioner to participate in the ensuing examination by treating her as English (PG) candidate. It is also contended that representation was made by the petitioner on 3rd September, 2025 by sending email letter to the Secretary the Commission which is much after submitting application in OnLine mode. Therefore, according to the Commission at this belated stage prayer of the petitioner may not be allowed.

Having considered the respective submissions made on behalf of the parties it appears that selection process has been initiated by the West Bengal Central School Service Commission after a long period of time and petitioner being unemployed youth got the opportunity to make application OnLine offering her
candidature for participation in written test scheduled on 14th September, 2025.

On perusal of the materials available on record it appears that due to inadvertence at the time of submitting OnLine application petitioner stated that she should be treated as a candidate under the subject Bengali (PG) though petitioner is possessing postgraduate qualification in English. Such fact goes to show that there was bonafide mistake on the part of the petitioner in submitting OnLine application while offering candidature under the subject Bengali (PG). Albeit submission has been made by Mr.
Bandopadhyay, learned senior advocate representing Commission that arrangement can be made for the petitioner to write examination by attending Office of West Bengal Central School Service Commission at Salt Lake in Kolkata on the scheduled date i.e. 14th September, 2025 but it appears that petitioner stays at Coochbehar which is far away from Kolkata and at this stage if petitioner is compelled to attend the Office West Bengal Central School Service Commission for writing examination that would create hindrance so far petitioner is concerned.
6. Taking note of the aforesaid aspect concerned authority of the West Bengal Central School Service Commission is directed to permit the petitioner to participate in written examination scheduled on 14th
September, 2025 by treating her as a candidate under the subject English (PG) not Bengali (PG) and a fresh admit card to be issued in favour of the petitioner by 12th September, 2025.
7. Writ petition stands disposed of.
8. Learned advocate for the petitioner is granted leave to communicate this order without waiting for server copy of this order to the West Bengal Central School Service Commission in course of this day.
