The petitioners allege that the police have illegally and arbitrarily taken steps to freeze five bank accounts of the petitioners for which the business of the petitioners has come to a stand still.

It appears from the submissions made on behalf of the private respondents and the State respondents that the police initiated Basdroni Police Station Case No. 506 dated 16th December, 2023 under Sections 420/406/467/468/471/120B of the Indian Penal Code in response to the complaint lodged by the private respondents.

During the process of investigation of the subject case the police took steps to freeze the bank accounts.

The Court is of the opinion that it will be open for the petitioners to approach the competent court for relief. The writ court will not be the appropriate forum to interfere with the process of investigation of the police at this stage.

As the writ petition is being disposed of without calling for any affidavit, the allegations made therein are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents.

Affidavit-of-service filed today be kept with the records.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of usual formalities.
