The Commissioner of Police, Barrackpore Police Commissionerate has filed a report. It is stated that investigation against the petitioner for having obtained arms licence by disclosing incorrect address is under progress. The status report of such investigation cannot be furnished as the same may be prejudicial to the investigation itself.

In that view of the matter, this Court directs the Investigating Officer to complete investigation within a period of three months from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The representation of the petitioner for arms licence shall be considered, if necessary, after filing of the final report in such investigation before the Jurisdictional Magistrate.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
