The petitioner challenges the final order of assessment dated July 18, 2025. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that this Court, by an order dated June 25, 2025, set aside the earlier final order of assessment dated March 25, 2025. Therefore, the petitioner contends that WBSEDCL cannot pass another final order of assessment. This argument is without merit.

The earlier order dated June 25, 2025, passed in WPA 11911 of 2025 (Swapan Pattanayek v. State of West Bengal & Ors.), clearly states that the final order of assessment dated March 25, 2025, was set aside on the ground that it failed to consider the objections filed by the petitioner. Accordingly, the final order of assessment was set aside with a direction to WBSEDCL to provide a fresh opportunity of hearing on July 10, 2025.

The subsequent final order of assessment dated July 18, 2025, reflects that the petitioner was heard on the said date but failed to produce any supporting documents to rebut the findings in the provisional order of assessment. Consequently, the provisional order of assessment was confirmed by the final order dated July 18, 2025.

In view of the above, I find no merit in the present writ petition.

Accordingly, writ petition being WPA 21602 of 2025 is dismissed.
