The allegation of the petitioner is that no steps have been taken by the Officer-in-Charge of the Garden Reach Police Station in spite of the complaint lodged by the petitioner by a letter dated June 7, 2024.

The learned Advocate appearing for the State files an undated report of the Officer-inCharge of the Garden Reach Police Station, which is taken on record.

It appears from the said report that pursuant to the complaint lodged by the petitioner by a letter dated June 21, 2024, a case vide Garden Reach Police Station Case No. 133 dated June 21, 2024 under Sections 341/323/506/114

of the IPC has been registered. In course of investigation, the concerned Investigating Officer examined the witnesses and recorded their statements under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code and notice under Section 41A of the Cr.P.C. was issued to the FIR named accused persons. The report further states that the FIR named accused persons, namely, Md.

Salim @ Bunty and Saif Khan, surrendered before the learned CJM, Alipore and the learned court granted bail till October 30, 2024. It is further stated in the said report that the investigation is in progress.

Since the investigation is in progress, the Officer-in-Charge of the Garden Reach Police Station is directed to conclude the investigation expeditiously.

In the event, the petitioner is not satisfied with the progress of the investigation, it will be open for the petitioner to approach the jurisdictional court in accordance with law.

With the above observations and directions, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
