An appeal preferred by the petitioner challenging the cancellation of the caste certificate is pending consideration before the Appellate Authority-cumAdditional District Magistrate (BCW), Murshidabad since July 2025.

The petitioner prays for consideration and disposal of the said appeal.

Without entering into the merits of the claim of the petitioner, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent - Appellate Authority Cum Additional District Magistrate (BCW), Murshidabad - to consider and dispose of the petitioner's appeal strictly in accordance with law, after giving reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and all other necessary parties, if any, for production of documents in support of their respective stand, at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter.
