1. Learned advocate for the petitioner is present. Affidavit of service filed in Court be taken on record.

2. None appears for the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

3. The petitioner filed a representation, which was received by the office of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation on 8th June, 2009 praying for mutating her name in the Municipal Assessment Records.

4. The grievance of the writ petitioner is that till date, no decision has been taken on such representation. Without entering into the merits of the claim made in the said representation, W.P.A. 16723 of 2009 is disposed of by directing the Assessor Collector, Collection Department (North) being the respondent no.3 to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 8th June, 2009 and to dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and/or any other person, who may be affected or their authorized representatives and to communicate the decision to the

parties immediately thereafter. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of server copy of this order along with a copy of the representation dated 8th June, 2009.

5. There shall be no order as to costs.

6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties expeditiously upon compliance of all legal formalities.
