AGP Mr. Somnath Naskar ......for State respondent The writ petition has been instituted, inter alia, challenging the fire safety license which was issued in faovur of the respondent no. 2. The writ petition is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing the parties. Pursuant to the previous order dated 25th April, 2024, Mr. Mukherjee, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondent has placed before this Court a communication of the Director and SPIO, West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services dated 30th April, 2024 which was made to him and the same along with other documents are taken on record.
Copies of the said communication and the documents are made over to the learned advocates representing the petitioner and the respondent no.2.
On perusal of such communication, it appears that fire license was granted in favour of the respondent no. 2 on 26th April, 2021 and after expiry of the said license on 25th April, 2022 the same was renewed for the period from 26th April, to 25th April, 2023.
Subsequently two online applications were made by the respondent no. 2 on 31st October, 2023 and 2nd December, 2023 but both were rejected due to delay caused in making online applications for renewal of the said license. In view of refusal on the part of the office of the West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services to renew the license in favour of the respondent no. 2 after expiry of the same on 25th April, 2023, no order need be passed on this writ petition.
Accordingly the writ petition stands disposed of.
However, there shall be no order as to costs.
