The election of the Board of Directors of Nadia District Central Co-operative Bank Limited is falling due on 15th September, 2023.

It appears from the submissions made on behalf of the parties that the final voter's list is yet to be

published. Draft voters list has been published and objections have been invited and considered.

The respondent no. 3, West Bengal Co-operative Election Commission is the appropriate body to conduct the election.

As it appears that the term of the Board of Directors will expire within a couple of days, accordingly, the respondent no.3 is directed to take prompt necessary steps to conduct and conclude the election in accordance with law, at the earliest, but positively within a period of three months from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The Commission shall ensure that the election is conducted peacefully in a free and fair manner. It will be open for the Commission to seek assistance from the concerned police station and other authorities for the purpose of conducting the election peacefully, in a free and fair manner.

The writ petition and the application stand disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
