1. Petitioner prays for expeditious disposal of case being A.C.G.R. No. 1822/2021 arising out of Patuli P.S. Case No. 78 dated 05.05.2021 pending before the learned 4th Judicial Magistrate, Alipore, South 24 Parganas.

2. Copy of the petition be served upon Ms. Sreetama Das, learned Counsel, empanelled with State.

3. Petitioner is the de facto complainant. A case was instituted in 2021 and matter is pending at the stage of recording evidence. Perusal of the order sheet shows though dates were fixed on a number of occasions, the prosecution witnesses had not turned up. Delay cannot be attributed to anyone other than the prosecution itself.

4. Be that as it may, we dispose of the application directing the trial Court to take appropriate steps for expeditious disposal of

the case at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournments.

5. With these directions, CRR 3783 of 2024 is disposed of. (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
