1. The petitioners renew their prayer for bail. They say that they are in custody for about 3 years and 5 months. Only 1 out of 31 chargesheet named witnesses has been examined, that too, in part.

2. The CBI has filed a report today. Let the report be taken on record.

3. From the report and the material on record, we find sufficient incriminating material against these petitioners. The petitioners were identified in test identification parade. The charge is very grave. If convicted, the petitioners will have to suffer mandatory life imprisonment.

4. We enquired of learned Deputy Solicitor General representing CBI as to how long would it take for the trial to conclude. Learned DSG, on instruction from the investigating officer, who is present in Court, says that the trial should be concluded within 9 months.

5. In view of prima facie incriminating material against these petitioners, who appear to have brutally murdered the victim, we are not inclined to allow their prayer for bail, at this stage.

6. However, in the event, the trial is not concluded within the time frame indicated by the CBI, petitioners will be at liberty to renew their prayer.

7. CRM (DB) 2937 of 2024 is dismissed.
