The wife, the respondent of the connected matrimonial suit filed by the husband is the petitioner of the present application under Article 227 of the Constitution of India.

The learned Trial Judge by the order impugned has disposed of an application for alimony pendente lite by directing the husband to pay such alimony @ Rs. 6,000/- per month and a sum of Rs. 2,000/- on account of litigation expenses.

The petitioner is aggrieved by the quantum of alimony.

Rs. 6,000/- per month is too meagre an amount for the subsistence of the wife but having regard to the age of the opposite party, the said amount is enhanced to Rs. 8,000/- per month only and the litigation expenses is enhanced to Rs. 5,000/-.

The arrear amount on the basis of this order is to be liquidated by five equal monthly installments along with the current alimony.

The monthly alimony to be paid within seventh of each succeeding month for which it falls due in the bank account of the wife, details of which to be furnished by Mr. Dutta to Mr.

Bagchi.

C.O. 3618 of 2019 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
