The petitioner claims that he participated in the recruitment process of the year 2016 based on the TET qualification in the year 2014. He claims to have secured more marks then the last appointed person in the SC category. The petitioner, however, holds B. Ed. as a basic training qualification.

By reasons of the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Devesh Sharma Vs. Union of India reported in

2023 SCC Online SC 985, B. Ed. is no longer a valid training qualification for teaching students at the primary level in this Country.

In those circumstances, no relief can be granted to the petitioner. The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed.

There shall be no order as to costs.
