And In Re : Tumpa Malik ..... petitioner Mr. Bitasok Banerjee ... for the petitioner Mrs. Anasuya Sinha Ms. Subhasree Patel ... for the State Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits she is in custody for more than six months. It is also submitted there is delay in the trial of the case. Witnesses were examined lastly on 24th February, 2021.

Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes prayer for bail and submits for next schedule has been fixed for examination of the witnesses on 9th November, 2022. We have considered materials on record. There are ample evidence against the petitioner. Date has been fixed for examination of witnesses on 9th November, 2022. Under such circumstances and in view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The application for bail is, thus, rejected. Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same as expeditiously as possible preferably within one year
