The petitioners (six in number) submit that they took admission for Diploma in Elementary Education course for the session 2015-17. The course was to be completed by July, 2017. The Board took one written examination for the persons who have qualified in D.L.Ed. course 2015-17 in the year December, 2017. The petitioners were not qualified at that point of time and, according to them, for not getting six marks against six wrong answers in the answer key which they got subsequently in 2021 and declared as qualified. They were not qualified in December, 2017 when the recruitment examination was taken for 2015-17 candidates. Subsequently they got six marks and the Board declared them TET qualified along with other 732
candidates. Therefore, the petitioners pray for taking part in the examination for which notification was published in the year 2017. The petitioners submit that as they were actually qualified in 2017, now the clock must be put back so that they can participate in the said 2017 recruitment procedure.
In reply to a question put by this court, the petitioners have said that because of such delay in getting six marks and after declaring as TET qualified belatedly, they have not crossed the age limit for the recruitment process which has been initiated very recently.
So I do not find any merit like crossing the age bar due to the delay in the case of the petitioners. They have every opportunity to participate in the ensuing recruitment process for the post of Assistant Teacher initiated by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education for which notification has been published on 21.10.2022.
With the above observation this writ application is disposed of.
