The petitioner seeks renewal of his Passport. The petitioner has been charge-sheeted in a criminal case.

As per the Notification No. GSR 570(E) dated 25th August, 1993 published by the Ministry of External Affairs, a person against whom a criminal case is pending is required to obtain order from the Court where the matter is pending permitting him to depart India.

It will be open for the petitioner to approach the criminal Court where the matter is pending for obtaining order to depart India in terms of the notification mentioned herein above.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

The instruction of the Officer-in-charge, Asansol (North) P.S. ADPC signed on 12th September, 2025 is taken on record.
