It appears from the statement of the victim recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and is also submitted on behalf of the parties that the dispute has been amicably settled between the parties and the victim/private opposite party does not intend to proceed with the matter any further.

In view of the above, this Court is inclined to hold that allowing the proceeding to continue shall be a futile exercise. The proceedings being special case no. 97 of 2021 pending before the learned Judge, Special Court, Chanchal, Malda, be quashed. CRR 4030 of 2024 and CRAN 1 of 2024 are disposed of.
