Petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Ms. Ratna Ghosh, learned advocate who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Her appointment may be regularized by the concerned Authorities in due course. The grievance of the petitioner is that although Muchipara P.S. Case No. 157 of 2015 dated 23.05.2015 and chargesheet was submitted Sin the year 2015, but there has been no substantial progress in the case.

Learned advocate submits that charge was framed in the year 2016 and till date out of the 18 charge-sheeted witnesses only two witnesses have been examined. It has also been submitted that the next date has been fixed on 15th September, 2023. Having considered the plight expressed by the petitioner, I am of the opinion that the anxiety expressed by the petitioner is justified. Accordingly, the learned trial court is directed to fix a

schedule consisting of three dates and such schedule be fixed once in every forty-five days so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. In case, if any of the witnesses is not appearing or reluctant to appear, the learned trial court will communicate with the Deputy Commissioner of police in Charge of Muchipara PS who would take steps for ensuring the presence of the witness on the dates so fixed before the learned trial court.

No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties.

The Public Prosecutor appearing in the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned. All efforts be taken by the stake-holders to cooperate with the trial court so that the trial is concluded within a reasonable period of time. With the aforesaid observations, the present revisional application being CRR 3431 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of.
