The petitioner alleges that the police authorities have not taken any steps in spite of the fact that a complaint has been lodged by the petitioner vide a letter dated August 27, 2024. The said complaint was lodged before the Officer-inCharge, Entally Police Station by a letter dated April 29, 2024.
The learned advocate for the Sate seeks time to take instructions in this matter. Since the complaint has been lodged, it is the duty of the police authorities to take action in accordance with law. If the complaint discloses a cognizable offence, the Officer-in-Charge, Entally Police Station being the 4th respondent is directed to register an FIR in accordance with law forthwith. If the police
authorities decide against registration of FIR, reasons therefore are to be communicated to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the server copy of this order.
With the above observations and directions the writ petition is disposed of.
However, there will be no order as to costs.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
