Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner is unhappy with the progress in investigation.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that by forging/manufacturing the Voters' Identity Card, Aadhar Card and Pan Card of his grandmother who owns huge quantum of property, the private respondents have forged a deed of conveyance and have usurped the entire property. Though complaint was lodged on 3rd August, 2025, there has hardly been any progress in investigation. The accused have also not been arrested.

It appears from the report submitted by the State that the specimen signature of the owner Sarala Roy has been taken and it has been sent to the Questioned Documents Examination Bureau for their opinion. This is the only progress in investigation till date.

It is most unfortunate that investigation of such a serious crime is being conducted in a casual and lackadaisical manner. The investigation needs to be monitored by a superior authority in order to unearth the truth and nab the offenders.

The Superintendant of Police, Ranaghat Police District, being the 2nd respondent herein, is directed to monitor the investigation in order to ensure that it is held in a fair, unbiased and impartial manner.

The 2nd respondent shall take all possible steps for unearthing the truth and arresting the offenders. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
