The petitioner is the widow of a deceased Assistant Teacher of Midnapur Collegiate School (Boys' H.S.), District - Paschim Medinipur. She has applied for compassionate appointment.

The concerned District Inspector of Schools though has referred her case to the West Bengal Regional School Service Commission, Western Region, Bankura, but the Secretary-in-charge of the Commission vide his letter bearing Memo No. 199/RSSC (W.R.)/BNK dated July 15, 2022 has refused to consider such prayer of the petitioner holding that the family income of the petitioner is more than the salary of a Group - D staff of the Government of West Bengal. In the said letter, the Commission has also requested the concerned District Inspector of Schools not to refer such kind of cases in future. There is nothing on record contrary to the findings of the said memo of the Commission.

W.P.A. 21760 of 2023 is therefore dismissed without any order as to costs.
