Petitioner has alleged that the police authorities did not respond to the information furnished on or about 06.05.2025.

Records reflect that Duttapukur P.S. Case No.300 of 2025 dated 06.05.2025 was registered for investigation against the private respondents. Petitioner complains that he is being threatened and harassed by the private respondents. In view of the criminal case having been registered, petitioner would be at liberty to approach the jurisdictional Magistrate in respect of the accusation of threat and harassment. Learned Magistrate would call for a threat perception report

and thereafter pass necessary directions under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018. Since the case was registered on 06.05.2025 and more than 90 days have passed, police authorities are directed to send a progress report to the petitioner. In case there are deficiencies, petitioner would prefer an application before the learned Magistrate who would dispose of the same in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 21849 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
