Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner contends that the petitioner applied for electricity connection to operate his submersible pump, which has not yet been given by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL).

Learned counsel appearing for the WBSEDCL hands over a written instruction and indicates that the WBSEDCL shall positively give such connection to the petitioner, subject to compliance of all formalities by the petitioner, by December 31, 2023.

It is submitted that to give such connection, a transformer is required to be installed, which is the reason for the delay.

Keeping the written instructions on record, W.P.A. No. 21762 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the WBSEDCL to give a new electricity connection to the petitioner for operating his submersible pump, subject to compliance of all formalities by the petitioner in that regard, positively by December 31, 2023.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
