A report dated 11th January, 2023 has been filed by Saurav Chinya, Officer-in-Charge, Ramnagar Police Station, Purba Medinipur, who is also present in Court. It appears from the report that sincere efforts have been made by the police to trace out the missing girl. There is clear evidence before this Court from the report of the Ramnagar Police that the victim girl, albeit 15 years old, had a love affair with Sukdeb Sasmal and may be evading the police with her lover.

Ramnagar Police shall obtain warrant of arrest from the local magistrate against Sukdeb Sasmal and other persons. If the warrant is not responded to, steps for proclamation and attachment shall also be taken under the CrPC.

With a direction on the Ramnagar Police Station to continue efforts to trace out the messing girl, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

Ramnagar Police Station shall apprise the petitioner of the status of the investigation on fourteenday basis and shall also take inputs as regards the whereabouts of his daughter.

There shall be no order as to costs.

The report of the Saurav Chinya, Officer-inCharge, Ramnagar Police Station, Purba Medinipur dated 11th January, 2023 is taken on record.
