The petitioner seeks an electricity connection at the premises situated in R.S. Dag No. 1728 and L.R. Dag No. 2497, R.S. Khatian No. 1252, L.R. Khatian No. 7489, J.L. No. 4, Ichapur, Kamardanga, Howrah - 711104.

It is admitted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner that the electricity connection could not be effected due to obstruction caused by respondent nos. 4 and 5.

Respondent nos. 4 and 5 are not represented.

The learned advocate appearing for the Calcutta Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited submits that an inspection team of CESC Limited was

prevented by respondent nos. 4 and 5 from carrying out the inspection work at the said premises. I do not find any justification to keep the present writ petition pending.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with the following directions:

CESC Limited shall conduct an inspection at the relevant premises with the assistance of the local police station within a period of two weeks from the date of this order.

Subject to the petitioner's compliance with all necessary formalities, an electricity connection shall be provided within a further period of two weeks thereafter.

In the event that the electricity connection cannot be provided for any reason whatsoever, the reason(s) thereof shall be communicated to the petitioner in writing.

The local police station shall provide necessary assistance to CESC Limited for the implementation of this order, and the cost for such assistance shall be borne by the petitioner.

Accordingly, WPA 21810 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
