BIBEK CHAUDHURI, J. : - 1.

Mr. Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya, learned Senior Counsel on behalf of the petitioners submits that on the basis of a meeting held jointly by the representatives of the petitioners, District Magistrate and the District Judge of Hooghly and other stakeholders, it is decided that an area of 1.927 acres of land available at the site shall be handed over in favour of the Judicial Department, Government of West Bengal by the District Magistrate and L.A Collector, for construction of a residential complex for the Judicial Officers at Chinsurah, Hooghly. It is also decided

that Lok Kendra Trust will execute a gift deed in respect of 0.32 acres of land in favour of Government of West Bengal.

The District Magistrate, Hooghly has also agreed to deliver freehold land measuring about 0.50 acres in favour of the petitioners. In view of the above settlements, the instant writ petition be treated to be disposed of. The report submitted by the District Magistrate, Hooghly dated NIL, but prepared after the meeting held on 1st August, 2023 containing the terms of settlement be treated as the part of the official order. 3.

The instant writ petition is accordingly disposed of in terms of the above settlement.

Let a copy of this order be sent to the learned Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta to apprise the fact of obtaining land measuring about 1.9276 acres for construction of residential complex of the Judicial Officers at Chinsurah, Hooghly to the Hon'ble the Chief Justice as well as the Hon'ble Portfolio Judge for the District of Hooghly. 5.

Let a copy of this order be also sent through the learned Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta to the Principal Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Judicial Department, Writers Buildings, Kolkata-700001 for his information and taking necessary action in the matter of interdepartmental transfer of land with the District Magistrate, Hooghly.
