The affidavit of service is taken on record.

The only relief which the petitioner seeks is for renewal of the Cable Network Licence of the petitioner and for an appropriate direction on the respondent no.2 being the Senior Postmaster, Howrah HO, Howrah in that regard.

The petitioner made an application for renewal before the concerned authority on 27th January, 2022. Learned counsel appearing for the Union of India hands up an internal communication stating that several police cases are pending against the cable center of the petitioner.

Whatever may be the charges against the petitioner, the respondent no.2 must deal with the application dated 27th January, 2022 and dispose of the same by giving reasons. This shall be done within four weeks from the date of communication of this order. A

copy of the reasoned order shall be made available to the petitioner within a week from the date on which such reasoned order is passed.

W.P.A.22193 of 2022 is disposed of in terms of the above.
