The petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that in respect of a complaint of alleged assault, theft of articles and cutting of trees, the Hasnabad Police Station has only registered a GD.

The private respondents are represented.

This Court is of the view that the complaint discloses cognizable offences. The Hasnabad Police Station should register FIR and conduct an investigation into the matter in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Since the respondents have not used any affidavits, the allegations made in the writ petition shall not be deemed to have been admitted by them.
