The petitioner is aggrieved that the petitioner has not been given inspection of the books, registers and documents of the Cooperative Bank, being the respondent no. 4.

Mr. Bhattacharyya, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that he is entitled to such inspection under Rule 67A of the West Bengal Cooperative Societies Act, 2011 and also entitled to obtain certified copies of such documents as stipulated in Rule 67A/B of the said Rules. 3.

Mr. Sureka, learned counsel appears for the respondent no. 4 and submits that the petitioner being a member of the Board has attended Board Meetings and has also acceded to confirmation of agendas of the earlier meetings. The petitioner therefore, has knowledge of such documents.

Mr. Nayak, learned counsel appears for the respondent nos. 2 and 3 and makes his submissions. 5.

Without getting into the controversy as to whether inspection of documents have been given to the petitioner or certified copies been supplied to him or not, I direct the bank to furnish the documents under Rule 67 and 67A of the said Rules by December 31, 2025. I also direct the petitioner to make an appropriate application in compliance with the provisions of Rule 67B of the said Rules to obtain certified copies of the documents.

With the afore-stated direction, the writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
