The petitioner seeks that a copy of the award passed in a proceeding initiated under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 be served on him.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that though an acquisition proceeding has been initiated and concluded in respect of the subject land, no copy of the award has ever been served on the petitioner.

On behalf of the State it is submitted that all due procedures in accordance with the above Act have been followed and the entire compensation has been duly paid in respect thereof on October 13, 2020.

In such circumstances, there is no scope for passing any order in favour of the petitioner and the writ petition is liable to be dismissed.

In view of the fact that the award had been passed and the entire compensation had been received by the petitioner as far back as on October 13, 2020, there is no scope of passing any order in favour of the petitioner. Obviously, this is an attempt to re-open issues which have long attained finality. In any event, the petitioner has an alternative adequate statutory remedy. In such circumstances, there is no merit in the writ petition, WPA No. 22249 of 2022 stands dismissed on the ground of maintainability.
