Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner deposited a deed for registration long back but registration is being procrastinated by the respondents on the ground that the stamp paper on which the same was engraved was forged.

The petitioner, it is submitted, is agreeable to deposit the entire monetary equivalent of the stamp for getting the deed registered.

In view of such fair submission of the petitioner, WPA No. 21824 of 2023 is allowed, thereby directing the petitioner to deposit the monetary equivalent of the stamp paper, which has been observed to be fraud by the respondents, within a fortnight from date.

Upon such payment being made, the respondentauthorities shall immediately complete the

process of registration of the deed, being Deed of Sale No. 3498 for the year 1991, of the petitioner and such process shall be concluded within three weeks thereafter.

It is made clear that nothing in this order shall relieve the petitioner from any liability to produce the deed as and when so required by the concerned criminal court in connection with the criminal proceeding which is now ongoing or will be initiated, as the case may be, in respect of the forged stamp papers.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
