The grievance of the petitioner is that payment has not been made despite the work being performed in terms of the work order issued in his favour. A representation pending consideration at the end of the Block Development Officer/Programme Officer.

Without entering into the merits of the claim of the petitioner, as it appears that a legal representation made on behalf of the petitioner is pending consideration at the end of the Block Development Officer, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the said officer to consider and decide the said representation in accordance with law and in terms of the work order issued at the earliest, but

positively within a period of five months from the date of communication of this order.

A reasonable opportunity of hearing shall be given to the petitioner for production of all documents in support of the claim.

If any amount is found due and payable, the same shall be disbursed immediately thereafter. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is directed to forward all documents in support of the claim to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Report by the Block Development Officer, Ratua-I Development Block, Malda dated 2nd April, 2024 be retained with the record.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
