For the State The petitioner is directed to serve a copy of this revisional application upon Mr. Santanu Deb Roy, Learned Advocate, who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. His appearance may be regularised by the concerned authority. The records of the case reflect that the case was instituted in the year 2020. The investigating authority after investigation submitted charge-sheet in the same year. Charge has already been framed. But, till date, out of six witnesses so cited by the prosecution, none of the witness has been examined. Almost three and half years have passed sine the initiation of the case and the petitioners are facing agony of criminal trial.

It has been informed that the next date is fixed on 26th of September, 2023.

Having regard to the same, I direct that on the next date, if no witness is present in court, then the ld. JM, 5th Court, Serampore, Hooghly would communicate with the inspector-in-charge of Serampore Women P.S., who would take steps regarding the presence of the witnesses on the date so fixed.

The ld. Trial Court would fix at least one date in a month for the purposes of the present case, so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. Ld. Public Prosecutor conducting the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates so fixed for examination of the witnesses. All stakeholders would cooperate with the ld. Trial Court for concluding the trial at the earliest. With the aforesaid observations, CRR 3469 of 2023 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta.
