2. None appears for the State.

3. The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on January 31, 2024. He received his Provident Fund benefits of Rs.26,31,196/- towards Provident Fund on January 16, 2025 and Rs.60,067/- towards part payment of leave encashment and gratuity on December 02, 2024.

4. The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from February 01, 2024 to January 16, 2025 at the rate of 6% per annum towards Provident Fund and from February 01, 2024 to December 02, 2024 at the rate of 6% per annum towards part payment of gratuity and leave encashment. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.

5. In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9% per annum.

6. The writ petition is disposed of, without any order as to costs.
