1. Petitioner has assailed the order dated 19.12.2023 whereby the revisional court enhanced the interim maintenance payable to the opposite party-wife to Rs.4,000/- per month for her and Rs.3,500/- per month for her son from the date of filing of application.

2. Relationship between the parties is admitted. Petitioner is a police officer and as per affidavit-of-asset he declared his gross income as Rs.46,126/- per month. Though he has taken a loan, his mandatory deductions on account of GPF, etc. do not exceed Rs.9,240/- per month. He has a self-declared immovable property and no other dependent. Opposite party-wife does not have any income of her own. It is argued that the son has attained majority. However, he does not have any income.

3. Given this situation, enhancement of maintenance by the revisional court to Rs.4,000/- per month for opposite party-wife

and Rs.3,500/- per month for son from the date of application is unexceptionable.

4. Needless to mention son is entitled to maintenance till he has attained majority.

5. With this observation, application being CRR 3874 of 2024 is dismissed.
