The petitioner seeks an electricity connection at premises no. 46/33, Becharam Chatterjee Road, P.S. Parnasree, Kolkata - 700034.
It is admitted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner that the electricity connection could not be effected due to obstruction caused by respondent nos. 5, 6, and 7.
Respondent nos. 5, 6, and 7 are not represented. The learned advocate appearing for the Calcutta Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited submits that an inspection team of CESC Limited was prevented by respondent nos. 5, 6, and 7 from conducting the inspection at the said premises.
I do not find any justification to keep the present writ petition pending.
Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with the following directions:
CESC Limited shall conduct an inspection at the relevant premises with the assistance of the local police station within a period of two weeks from the date of this order.
Upon completion of the inspection and subject to the petitioner's compliance with all requisite formalities, an electricity connection shall be provided to the petitioner within a further period of two weeks thereafter.
In the event that the electricity connection cannot be provided for any reason whatsoever, CESC Limited shall communicate the reasons in writing to the petitioner.
The local police station shall extend necessary assistance to CESC Limited in implementing this order, and the costs for such assistance shall be borne by the petitioner.
Accordingly, WPA 22092 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
