This is an application seeking an expeditious disposal of a proceeding in C.R. Case No.221 of 2016 under Section 138 of the N. I. Act.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the complainant in this case. Although the petitioner's complaint was lodged as far as back in 2016, till date impugned proceeding could not be concluded. On one occasion the accused absented himself and warrant of arrest had to be issued. He would come back on the next date and obtain bail. The proceeding has remained pending largely for no fault of the present petitioner. I have heard the submission of the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and have perused the revision petition.

No prejudice will be caused to anyone if a direction for an expeditious disposal of the proceeding is passed in this case. It appears that some delay has been occasioned in concluding the impugned proceeding, especially in view of the stipulation for expeditious hearing contained in Section 143 of the N.I. Act.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial court to conclude the proceeding as

expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties, preferably within the period of six months from the next date of hearing.

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
