Chatterjee Mrs. Debjani Dasgupta ...... for the State The petitioner is the husband of the victim lady and he is in custody for 40 days. He prays for bail.

Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for bail. We have considered the materials on record.

The petitioner had suppressed his earlier marriage and entered into matrimony with the victim lady. She was tortured at the matrimonial home. The co-accused i.e. brother-in-law molested her.

In view of the incriminating materials we are of the opinion that this is not a fit case to grant the petitioner bail at this stage. Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected. (Ajay Kumar Gupta, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
