24.10.2025 Aniruddha Roy, J.:

1. Affidavit-of-service, filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. None appears for the State.

3. The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on July 31, 2024. He received his provident fund benefits of Rs.35,99,191/- towards provident fund on June 18, 2025.

WPA 22295/25 A.R., J.

4. The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from August 01, 2024 to June 18, 2025 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.

5. In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.

6. The writ petition is disposed of.

7. There will be no order as to costs.
