The petitioner participated in the recruitment process to the post of Assistant Teacher conducted by the DPSC, Howrah in the year 2009. He was put in the additional panel but no appointment was given to him.

This Court has considered discrepancy in the recruitment process of the year 2009 conducted by the DPSC, Howrah and has passed certain directions in a decision dated 09.04.2024 and 12.04.2024 in WPA 3268 of 2015 (Sourav Naskar & Ors. Vs. State of West Bengal & Ors.). In terms of the said decision,

aggrieved candidates of the recruitment process who have filed writ petition after 31st March, 2024 were directed to be given appointment. The instant writ petition has been filed on 8th September, 2023, i.e., within the cut-off date. The writ petitioner is therefore entitled to the benefit of the aforesaid order dated 09.04.2024 and shall be entitled to appointment.

The last date for scrutiny of applications and verifications of testimonials of the petitioner shall stand extended by reasons of this order. The appointment of the petitioner shall be subject to scrutiny and verification of all his documents.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties are directed to act on a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
