After the writ petition was filed, the complaint lodged by the petitioner was registered as FIR and investigation is in progress.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that pursuant to a dispute with regard to filling up of a pond, he was attacked by a huge gathering for which the police arrived at the spot and he was granted shelter in the police station. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged against the petitioner and he was arrested. The petitioner is on bail at present. He seeks preservation of the CCTV footage of Bankura Police Station from 1.00 P.M. to 3.30 P.M. on 5th August, 2025. Such prayer is allowed.

The police authority is directed to preserve the said CCTV footage and produce the same as and when required by a Court.

The other prayers in the writ petition are not pressed by the petitioner.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
